“I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.” Philippian 4:13 (TLB)

Jesus’ first miracle involved the changing of water into wine. Consider the magnitude of that process, which generally includes the growing and harvesting of grapes in their correct season, the cleaning, crushing, and fermentation of those grapes and the pressing and aging of the wine over years or even decades.

This is how wine is made according to John 2:1-10. Jesus instructed the servants to get 6 large water pots. They weren’t special wine vessels, just regular stone pots that were usually used for handwashing. Jesus then eliminated the need for grapes altogether and utilized water, a neutral colorless, tasteless substance, as an alternative. Next, he completed all of the winemaking steps instantly and instructed the servants to “…draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet” John 2:8.  Then, voila! It was the best wine they had served at the wedding. Jesus didn’t need any additional equipment, the handwashing vessels containing the water were sufficient.

Have you been waiting for things to line up before you begin to do what Christ has put in your heart to do? Are you waiting to secure more funds, or to add another degree to your title? Sometimes we procrastinate because of the fear of failing, so, what God intended for us to do in a day, takes months, years, or even decades, as we’re awaiting the perfect time. Remember what God’s word says in Philippians 2:13 (TLB), “God is at work within you, helping you to want to obey him, and then helping you do what he wants.” It’s all about God doing it. He even puts the desire in you to do it. Put the burden of failure on Him who never fails. “God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful” 1 Thessalonians 5:24.

I’m speaking to someone who was supposed to start a business, someone who was supposed to start a YouTube channel, someone who has been writing a book for 3 years, someone who’s been contemplating going back to school, someone who doesn’t feel qualified to speak or write on a certain topic, someone whose speech isn’t polished enough or whose accent is ‘too’ strong. Take the focus off of yourself, and think about those who are lost and dying. Those who are waiting for you to speak and act and do what God has instructed you to do. If God said to do it, move on it.

I want to challenge you to take a step of faith today. Just as with the children of Israel who came to the Jordan River when it was overflowing its banks. According to Joshua 3:16-17,  “…as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water …was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.” They had to step into the river by faith, knowing that there was absolutely no chance that God could go back on his word. Where is your faith today child of God, is it wavering or is it firmly planted in the word of God? “Now faith is being sure we will get what we hope for. (That which was promised.) It is being sure of what we cannot see” Hebrews 11:1.

Child of God, your heavenly ability is beyond the ‘normal process’, you control the seasons and times and there is no need for special equipment. The conversation of water into wine was Christ’s elementary miracle. After that, he healed blind eyes, calmed a raging storm, fed a multitude with 5 loaves and two fish, raised the dead and he died and came back to life.

In John 1:12-13, Jesus says, “I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these…! For I will do whatever you ask me to do when you ask me in my name.” Do you understand that? “… This is how the Son will show what the Father is really like and bring glory to him” vs13b. It brings joy to the heart of the Father and glory to his name when the Son answers the prayers of the saints. I’m not making this up. It’s in the word of God. You have been called to do greater miracles than Christ did while he was on earth: what is there that’s to difficult for you to do?

Sometimes we postpone action because we’re afraid of satanic attacks, but Christ dealt with that according to Luke 10:19 which says, “…Understand that I have imparted to you all my authority to trample over his (Satan’s) kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will be able to harm you as you walk in this authority.” That scripture doesn’t, say you may or might. It says you will because you already have everything you need to do it. So I ask again, what is there that’s to difficult for you to do? The answer is NOTHING. It’s all elementary! “The strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to master all things.” Philippians 4:13
